  1. Man, you are preaching to the choir, only I'm years ahead of you. I encountered the identical problem, but my "degradation" started when my 2015 was only 18 months old. For the first year and half I was consistently getting 22 miles per charge. During those days when I arrived at work I still had two miles remaining on the charge. Then all of a sudden, literally overnight, the most range that I could get was 18 and I was falling way short of my drive to work, resulting in the ICE kicking in. I brought it into Ford and guess what, they said it was "normal degradation" and referred me to page x in the warranty manual. I fought with them tooth and nail, but to no avail. Today the maximum range is 15 miles, which it where it has remained for the last five years, which I find odd in itself because it rapidly lost it's charging capacity in less than two years, but the capacity has remained rock steady for the last five years. Let me add that when the car was new it took about three hours to fully charge, now it takes 1.5 hours.
  2. I used to love mine too (2015), until the battery started degrading. When new I could count on 21-22 miles per charge down here in the Ft Lauderdale area. Now I can't squeeze more than 11 miles out of a charge. Ford says this is "normal degradation" and refuses to deal with it. Good luck.
  3. Continuing with this thread, I'm down to 10 miles per charge with 35,000 miles on the car. Once again I brought it to the dealer and they responded "normal degradation" and pointed to the cashier where I had to pay my $140 diagnostic charge since the car is out of warranty. While I love the car, I could never recommend the Energi based on my experience.
  4. Not sure about you, but a 32% loss after only 2.5 years seems like a lot to me.
  5. I read the second link and reading down the page I saw responses identical to mine, how all Ford does is respond with "there are no codes therefore there is nothing wrong with the battery", the exact response that's on my latest service order. Posters there are complaining that they are seeing 4.1kwh capacity while mine is down to 3.8. Like I've said before, I would expect normal degradation, but not 47% in three years.
  6. Absolutely incredulous, that's the only word that comes to mind. I can't believe that you have nearly twice as much mileage as me yet most of your battery capacity. I contacted a law firm that is looking for plaintiffs to start a class action suit against Ford. Maybe that will get their attention.
  7. Living is South Florida we obviously don't use the heat at all, but A/C use is year round and realize it takes away from the overall range. I first reported the degradation when the car was 2.5 years old, so the calculation shouldn't be based on 4+ years. I'd be curious to know what kind of range you are getting on your Fusion and how many miles you have.
  8. I'm looking incredulously at your numbers. I have never seen anything near 27 miles per charge.
  9. Hoping that reviving this thread will get more people involved. I have a 2014 Fusion Energi and for the first 2.5 years I consistently got 22 miles per charge, even way down here in South Florida. Two and a half years into ownership, the range went down almost overnight to 18 miles and has been on a downward trend since. When new the battery charged to 5.8 Kwh and now I can't squeeze more than 3.7. Also, full charging used to take two hours, ten minutes and now it's about an hour twenty five. Ford keeps telling me that it's normal degradation. Sorry, I don't think nearly 50% in 2.5 years is normal. As of now the car has a measly 30,000 miles. Anybody else have similar experiences?
  10. I'd like to revive this old post. I have a 2014 Energi and for the first 2.5 years I was consistently seeing 22 miles per charge. About a year and a half ago, practically overnight, it went down to 18 and no matter how conservatively I drove it, I just couldn't get more than 17 to 18 miles out of a charge. At that time I brought the car in and all the service department would do is tell me "it's your driving habit that changed", which was not only insulting but simply not true. Fast forward another year and I'm now seeing 13 miles per charge (almost a 50% reduction). The dealer still insists that it's my driving habit, which it isn't because I like to challenge myself by seeing how far I can get on a charge and when it says 13, it means 13. This past weekend I drove to work with the A/C off for 95% of the time (and I live in the Miami area), I accelerated so slowly that people behind me were honking at me, I limited my highway speed to no more than 62 and took my foot off the accelerator well before a stop light and just coasted in. Nada, I couldn't get more than 13 to 14 miles out of it. Also, during the first two years of ownership I made it to work and the display consistently showed that I still had 2 miles of EV range. Now the battery is depleted 5 miles before reaching my office, when it switches over to gas. Thinking that perhaps the 240v charger was at fault, I went back to the 110 charger but got the same results. At this time I have 39,000 miles on it. Any ideas on what to check and how to handle this would be greatly appreciated.
  11. How in the world does anybody get 22 miles, or even better, on a charge? The most I see these days is 17, and that's by driving extremely conservative while switching the A/C on and off at regular intervals. I've brought it into Ford twice and each time the report is that all systems are functioning perfectly. Also, I live in FLA where there's not a hill or incline anywhere for several hundred miles. What are your secrets?
  12. I did receive the brochure, but no coupon.
  13. When I bought my Energi this week I interpreted the window sticker item listed as "Power Folding Heated Mirror" as meaning the side mirrors can be folded with the flip of a switch. Imagine my surprise when I found out the mirrors are plain old manual fold. I'm bummed because I could really use this feature as I have a narrow garage opening. I was wondering if the nomenclature for the line item on the sticker is a holdover from an earlier Fusion model which did have power folding mirrors. Does anybody know?
