About Recce93

  1. I like Sporty so I added the 5Hundred Open Mouth grille to mine. Also have some Ford Racing Y rims for my summer all-season tires (the kind on the Ford Focus ST style) but that pic will have to wait till the summer rolls around again. Also, I like the Shark Fin antenna instead of the little shaft that comes on the car. I also don't like the amber reflectors so I purchased the Chinese Mondeo HID headlights, those weren't cheap but they also added the DRL LED strip which is nice. Good luck, it is a good looking ride without any updates too.
  2. Thanks for posting, occasionally one of my segments doesn't light but right now seems to be fine. Good to know that this is in my wheel house for something I can do myself.
  3. Since the winter started I have had it stop communicating twice in about a 10 day span. Pulling the negative cable fixed it both times. Been running good for about 1.5 months (winter starts early here) now. I have thought about installing a switch for it because this has happened about half a dozen times now since I have owned the car.
  4. Ok, I disconnected the battery to have the system reset or reboot, don't know what it is called, but that seems to have fixed the connectivity issue and go times. I don't think this is something we should have to do regularly to keep the cars systems working but we will see how long this 'fix' works. It only took a couple minutes so if you are having an issue, might be worth a quick try. You will need a 10mm wrench to loosen the batt cable.
  5. It has now been three days since I have been able to connect to my car through the app. I cannot update go times anymore on the MFD either. Gonna try disconnecting the cable to reboot the system, it is Microsoft software in there after all.
  6. Good luck! It peels right of if don't like it so it is forgiving in that sense. Yes, I can't stand that little chrome strip. Amazing that I don't like the 'upgraded' feature. To each their own I guess.
  7. I'd be interested to see how it is done. I would like to replace my door handles with color matched ones from the lower trim models to get rid of the chrome inlay but I don't want to dork with the sensors on all the doors.
  8. Might look into a quick disconnect switch for the Batt with all the bugs fixed by a reset. Not a mod I would think of but with a new cars comes new frontiers.
  9. Don't know how hard they are working the issue but at least they acknowledge they know about it. The response I got back from ford is: My apologies for not responding sooner. My technical specialist has responded to your concern with the EV Range on the MyFord mobile app no longer updating. He states Ford Engineering is aware of this concern and a fix is in the works. The fix is expected to be released within the next few weeks. He also adds that once the fix is released, there won’t be anything you’re required to do on your end with your phone. Only time will tell
  10. I am running 3.8 and an iPhone 6s. The song and artist info displays on the touch screen in the lower left quadrant and the radio page of the touch screen. But it doesn't display that info on next to the speedometer when entertainment is selected, just BT stream. I don't know why it can display radio station data there but not the BT audio. Do you get the BT audio metadata displayed there?
  11. I think this is corrected on the Sync3 system, but does anyone know if there is a way to fix it on the 2013-2015 models? I would like to have the audio information that is displayed on the entertainment quadrant when streaming bluetooth audio (title artist etc) on the entertainment screen next to the speedometer. The data is displayed for radio information but only says Bluetooth Audio Streaming detected.
  12. I am waiting to hear back from Ford Customer Service as I reached out to them initially for some issues with the only dealership in my area. I sent them the issue with the range not updating on the app anymore since the upgrade (I use the term 'upgrade' loosely). It seems hit or miss if I get any data from the car when I check on the app and it is definitely a lot slower than the 2G modem was. Hopefully some fix is in the works. If I get anything substantial back from the ford rep I will post it up here.
  13. Probably not. It does frustrate me that for my case it was a simple APIM (and some other things) reprogram. So no parts just them using their proprietary system to 'reset' my system. Software shouldn't just go bad and need to be reboot/reinstalled (unless it is ALL microsoft stuff inside). I wish there was a way for me to do that at home.
  14. Got my car back from the dealer today and they have fixed my heater issue, we will see how long it lasts because no parts were swapped out. The frustrating part is it was all computer work that I can't do even if I wanted to. But, here is what they say they did: Found incomplete configuration in APIM U2100, code B11EE 19 in ACCM. Performed reprogramming of APIM and initialization and calibration then performed PPT H1-H10 found FCIM had lost programming. Installed as built data into FCIM then per PPT repaired pinfit at connectors, reassessed test systems and verified heater working correctly. Not sure what a lot of that is and the tech had gone home for the day so I couldn't chat with them to find out. There were no codes in the obdii reader I have so this is not within my capability to fix. Guess 250 is better than 900 bucks but it is frustrating that it was just code that went bad and not a part that I can touch.
  15. I thought genuine Ford parts came with a 2 year, so I'd think that the part you had fixed 9 months ago should be covered if it went bad. I am sure they have some excuse though.
