  1. Ah, I did not know that. Thanks... So we are at the mercy of the service guys to find out if there is a TSB, eh? That kind of stinks. R
  2. How about TSBs AFTER the time the thread was locked? Unless this is being updated each time one comes out and THEN it is locked? Thanks, R
  3. Hello, Why is the pinned thread locked at the top of this forum? Where is the best place to go to find all TSB's before bringing in the car for service? Thanks, R
  4. Wow, my google maps does this but not as much. Just when there is a split in the main highway. FYI, I never use the nav in the Ford. I like having the map, but voice recognition and use in MFT sucks so bad, I can't use it. R
  5. So how would this impact your behavior? It probably is not a big deal... R
  6. Drive the car in Empower mode and just look at the amount of power. I think you can see the difference between L and D very clearly... At least in my car.... R
  7. If you watch the amount of battery energy used while driving in L, it is obvious that it uses more energy than D. You may get more regen, but the cost is not worth it. There may be some dependency on the road grades, but for flat road driving, L is a bad choice. R
  8. Empower all the way...you can indeed see when both the gas and electric engine/drive is running. At first I thought that Engage was better, but Empower shows you when the battery is charging or draining... R
  9. Not meaning to hijack this thread, but have you guys noticed the standard charging cable getting warm? (without an extension cord) R
  10. I really don't see the benefit of EV now unless you want to sneak up on someone in electric mode. :-) I use EV Auto unless I am going on a highway (at which point I switch to EV later). This reserves EV power for when I am on city streets and may get some regen. R
  11. Wow, I hope they did something special for you... this does not happen too often... R
  12. Ha! I can see a Star Trek insignia or maybe the Rebel Alliance insignia from Star Wars.... :-)
  13. Yup... It will go to houses next for you... :-) R
  14. I am not a fan of these, either. When I want my lights on, I just turn them on. DRLs are a discount for insurance, however. That is one vote in their favor. R
  15. Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but check this out... http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=phev1Prompt You may also want to use the http://phev.myfordmobile.com site, where you can look at cool stuff like this; In this case I selected my old Altima 2003 that used to get around 26-27 MPG. R
  16. I had the traffic displaying without having to do anything, but it has mysteriously disappeared. I know I did not change anything. I have not had time to dig in... R
  17. You can "shorten" the following distance (I think there are 3 or 4 levels), but I agree that it could be tough in traffic. I think that ACC is not usable in "traffic" that threatens to come to a complete stop. R
  18. It is a physical button on the bottom left side of the screen. Philosophically, it is out of place as all of the other buttons on the "soft console" are not the same type. You are missing it! :-) R
  19. BTW, one last thought for the night.... they only have three exterior colors (Silver, Black and White) and no leather interior options... R
  20. You should report that moron. Not only is he an ass, but I am guessing that he is not representing his company's perspective. R
  21. http://automobiles.honda.com/accord-plug-in/drive-system.aspx From the website: "If your daily commute is around 10 miles or less round trip, you could go to and from work each day without using a drop of gas. The Accord Plug-In has a [targeted] 10-mile all-electric range rating. Just recharge your vehicle each night, and you might be able to enjoy fuel-free weekdays." But with a 10 mile battery, this MPGe garbage is meaningless.... I don't get it at all. The gas engine gets 46 MPG...only 3 more than the Energi. So for a mildly better MPG for gas and less capability on the EV, the Honda still gets a better "rating". Tell me again why this number is good for the consumer? :-) From their website: How about an all-electric commute? When your Accord Plug-In is in EV mode, you not only have a staggeringly efficient vehicle (rated at 115 MPGe combined[1]), but you can also drive up to 10 miles without using a drop of gas. And when you do use gasoline, the Accord Plug-In remains efficient with an impressive 46-mpg highway rating. Charge 'er up and fill 'er up, and you should find a total driving range in excess of 500 miles. [1] 124 city/105 highway/115 combined miles per gallon of gasoline-equivalent (MPGe) electric rating; 47 city/46 highway/46 combined MPG gasoline only rating. 13 mile maximum EV mode driving range rating. 570 mile combined gas-electric driving range rating. Ratings determined by EPA. Use for comparison purposes only. Your MPGe/MPG and driving range will vary depending on driving conditions, how you drive and maintain your vehicle, battery age/condition, and other factors. For additional information about EPA ratings, visithttp://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/label/learn-more-PHEV-label.shtml. R
  22. One thought here is that I don't think that the car *could* store enough energy to go beyond charging the "hybrid" portion of the battery. In my experience, once I have depleted the EV, I usually float between 30% and 75% (or so) of the smaller battery capacity. I would have to hear more about how the Honda would do this. BTW, I had a terrible experience with Honda when I was EV shopping. The local sales guys here knew nothing at all... R
  23. Ha! The wiki page explained MPGe fairly well, but there is some math involved. I am not a fan of this reported metric... There is talk about introducing something better, which I am hoping for. MPGe does not tell the whole story. R (Note: this post is not in response to Larry...it was in response to person commenting about how it is like school.)
  24. I could be wrong, but the 120v draw is not a real big deal. I definitely do not have an isolated circuit for the outlet that I use. R
