  1. Is there a way to "filter" the ideas? Seems like they are all lumped together ("ramp under the truck bed" together with "apps") P.S. My phone is iPhone 5S with iOS7
  2. How'd you get this price? Mine was almost $45k (March 2013). If I had 10k off the sticker, math would have worked for me as well....
  3. What would be just splendid in the MyFord Mobile App is a couple of things: 1. Ability to set a one time use go time. I don't go to a grocery store on a schedule. Instead I'd love to tell the car to be ready in 15 min. 2. Ability to open and close windows remotely. Another strangeness I've noticed is the "alarm sounding" alert. I had my car broken into last year by breaking the rear passenger window. While I have no way of knowing if the alarm went off, I didn't get any alerts on either email, text or app. Not sure if this is the issue with MyFord Mobile, but I did ask the dealer about it and they told me that alarm would only sound if the door was opened. It wouldn't sound on broken window. Is that true?
  4. Had the same issue on 2013 model, went back to dealer at least 4 separate times every time complaining about the auto-up issue (amongst others). Every time they "fix" it, it eventually would break again. The trouble was that it was hard to replicate as it would only happen intermittently, so i could never show them. I now have 2014 model (lemon law replacement) and it has been working great since day one.
  5. I'd agree here. Doing this kind of mod is signing your own death warrant in case of a crash. Everything will be off and thus dangerous. I'm am 6'4" as well and I don't notice the problem with the right leg. On the contrary, I find it comforting to rest it on the padded insert of the center console (I guess this is why they've padded them and for that a great thanks to ford). I find a different issue though being 6'4". There isn't a single sedan I've been in so far that I don't rub at least a little bit against the ceiling. It only is a problem in cars with sliding roof, but still, I don't understand why it's so difficult to allow the seat to be lowered further? I understand there are short people out there, but that could be solved by mounting the seat lower and letting it just rise higher. Same issue with distance to pedals. If I pull the seat back enough for legs to be comfy, then I don't reach the steering wheel anymore even though it's fully extended. If I raise the seat back to compensate for "leg distance" then my head hits the ceiling. In other words, why it is so damn difficult to let the steering extend further out? I'd love to submit these comments to ford, but in all the surveys they have sent me after purchase, non talk about seating comfort, leave alone ask of my height and how I fit into the car. To be fair, this is not Ford's only issue. I had a Camry before with exactly same issues. I don't believe there is a car out there to satisfy me on this front.
  6. Here is what I do (assuming the goal is to not draw "climate" energy in EV mode): 1. Start HVAC system 2. Hit A/C button to turn off A/C and this also puts the HVAC into manual mode 3. Turn on foot and windshield vents (but don't turn on windshield vents alone as this considered a defrost and automatically starts ICE) 4. Lower the temperature to say "LOW" 5. Optionally put the fan into the lowest position. this works for both seasons. the only problem is that in the winter if you do this, you are sucking in cold air from the outside thus it will be freezing in the car. I found this annoying simply because if I don't do the above, the windshield starts to fog up a few minutes into the ride. It seems that if the system is completely off there is no outside air coming in at all, not even by virtue of moving vehicle and air simply getting through the vents without the fan. Instead, the vents appear to be completely sealed when the system in completely off regardless of the setting of the "recirculation" button.
  7. I had a similar problem. On 2013 FFE when I set Go Time and the car is plugged into a 240v charger nothing would happen. I would come up to the car in the predetermined time and see that energy is being drawn from the charger (my charging station has an indicator), but the blowers are not on and the car is stone cold. I took it to the dealer with this complaint and here is what I discovered: 1. Dealer had no idea what "Go Times" is in the first place. After explaining to them the feature I left the car. 2. When I picked up the car the explanation that was given to me was the following. "The feature works as designed. Preconditioning heats the coolant and not the cabin." I call bullshit for 3 reasons: a) This is not described in the manual as heating the coolant. b) that is just a stupid way to implement preconditioning. Why not just heat/cool the cabin itself. c) I since replaced the car under lemon law only to discover that in 2014 FFE this feature works as expected. The cabin is being cooled/heated. Talk to your dealer, but don't let them send you away with the answer they gave me of "heating the coolant".
  8. Does anyone know what is the proper way to report MFT bugs to Ford? Reporting it to dealer seems to be pointless as they are not concerned with MFT software at all (or so they say). This probably would be also a way to request new features in MFT. I would love, for example, to be able to rearrange the audio sources on the screen. I don't use AM or Sirius, so I don't need the on the first screen, but USB and Bluetooth audio would be great to have on the first screen instead of "paging" down. My garage is in a basement and reception is spotty there, but I do have wifi coverage there. I'd be just awesome if the MFT would get on wifi for sync purposes, because otherwise, if I decide to update "Go times", most of the time it does not show up on the car until I get out of the garage. Another "go times" related request would be to allow a use of "one time go time". For example, if I know I'm going to leave in 20 min, I'd love to "precondition" the cabin with AC/Heat. Instead, I add a go time right now and then have to delete it later assuming it makes it to the car in the first place (see above) I also found an odd bug. Every time I leave the garage, my phone disconnects from MFT interrupting the music or call if that's in progress. At first I thought it was due to the fact that my phone loses wifi connection and somehow trips the bluetooth radio as well. I tried it with wifi completely off on the phone and the behavior is the same, so maybe it's instead related to cell signal levels change (reception is poor in the garage). I have an IOS7 iPhone 5S (though iPhone 5 was doing the same thing). I'd love to report/request all that, but have no idea how. -andrey
  9. After doing math many times, taking tax credits into the account, etc, etc, etc i have concluded that FFE will never pay for itself in terms of ROI (I should rather say not in 8 years that I typically consider a life time of a car before maintenance costs start to climb). So in other words, I still have purchased FFE, but I did so with complete realization that it's a very expensive toy. It's pleasant to drive and I can argue I am investing in further development of EV and so on, but no matter how I spin it, the business case does not work for FFE vs. FFH and especially vs FF ICE. I did set out on purchasing a PHEV, so competition is still lacking in this segment. EV's were out as this is my only car, so I need "extended" range. Volt was out after a test drive and discovery of a couple things that made it quite a crappy choice because of lack of options as they are trying to keep the weight of the car down or so the dealer said and more importantly when batter runs out it becomes a simple ICE with 28mpg as opposed to a regular hybrid with 50mpg. Why GM would do that is beyond me, but that eliminated Volt as a choice for me. Prius PHEV was waaay too overpriced for the batter range and options when compared to FFE Titanium. The only other car that really competed with FFE was '14 Accord PHEV. Same price, comparable options (or more exactly no options at all as everything was included by default). Did anyone else do the math and business case works for you when compared with ICE or even a HEV? I should disclose though that I'm in MA, so no state subsidies here....
  10. How did you order that? Online? Car part store? In EU most new cars have LED DRLs and I gotta tell you, looks very cool. In US I've only seen it on newer Audi's for some reason. I just came back from Germany and the Mondeo there is still not same body as fusion. My understanding was that Fusion and Mondeo became the same car last year. I haven't seen a single "new" new mondeo. Granted I haven't seen many Mondeo's all together. I haven't seen them new ones last year either (I go to EU at least once a year).
  11. Had my Fusion Energi Titanium since March: 1. Fixed the ping pong sound from the front (TSB) 2. Trim on the rear passenger side door inside handle is popping out about 1/2". I keep forgetting to tell the dealer 3. one touch UP on driver side breaks constantly (they claim now that they fixed it after 4!! visits). Passenger side failed a few times so far. I'll keep observing. 4. Check Engine Light was coming on. Something to do with fuel vapor sensor. I took it to the dealer 4 times. Just got it back yesterday from the 4th time that kept the car in the shop for 2,5 weeks!!!! They said they replaced the CPU. I can't go to the dealer every few month, i'm not that social. I just went to check if the go time worked and guess what: CEL is back on. Sigh... I will try to get this car replaced under lemon law. 5. Go times don't work. Or more precisely the preconditioning part of it doesn't work (what other part is there?). When I come up to the car during go times, I can see the energy is being drawn from the charging unit (I have GE with an indicator of draw), but the inside of the car is as cold as a fridge (about 8 celcius in the garage). I open the door and nothing is blowing any kind of air as I would expect vents pumping in warm air. The cabin is still frigid. Supposedly, go times don't work if CEL is on, but then why is it drawing energy. 6. Buzzing noise from the left side bezel of the LCD screen (not from the silver trim around the whole center console). Every time I went to the dealer, I told them about it. Still no fix as they "can't hear it". I think this one I'll be fixing myself at the end @FordService, would you mind having a telephone conversation about? P.S. My list of annoyance from the MFT itself is also more than a few items long, but that's separate topic
  12. Congrats and welcome. Hello from Boston!
  13. Ok, turns out my global open/close works. Remote start, no so much. I'm going to re read the manual.
  14. I found my window sticker. It lists global open/close and remote start, so I guess I'll just try again, but it does not list heated mirrors or adaptive cruise control even though there is driver assist package there at $1000 (but it only seems to include lake keep and cross traffic). I must have missed it over all the excitement of getting the car :(
  15. I was not able to figure out what I can use wifi for in the first place. Yes, it's connected, but that's all. I was hopping that the car would use wifi to communicate with ford instead of the built in cell modem because reception in my garage is nearly non existent, but it doesn't look like that's the case. In fact, it doesn't even reconnect automatically to a known wifi network when it's in range. Useless.
  16. Do all of the Energi's have global opening/closing. I have 2013 Energi Titanium (I thought I got all features that I was able to check off on the paper), but seems like I'm missing adaptive cruise control, global opening and maybe even remote start. As well as heated mirrors, I think.
  17. I have the same. It's a faint buzzing noise (best I can describe it) but it's loud enough that it drives me crazy. I like to drive in quietness (only sometimes I put on a radio or music), so this is a big deal to me. It's only there when the road is not super smooth and neither it's very bumpy. It seems to only occur on pavements with micro vibration kind of quality. It's tough to replicate to the dealer :( It also doesn't seem to be related to the outside temperature unlike most of the rattles i had in my previous vehicles, or at least not that i can correlate to. After searching for a long time, I noticed that when it starts, I need to push a little on the plastic between radio power button and the silver bezel and it will go away for a short time (2 min maybe) Another way to describe this noise is if some surface is glued to another and it micro vibrates enough to unstick, make the noise of ripping glue (if this makes sense) and then stick on back. Kind of when you maybe step on something sticky and now your shoe makes this annoying sticky sounds when you walk with every step. Except the frequency of this is very high. The most I was able to get to is to take off the silver bezel and undo bolts that hold the center screen unit. I think tightened the bolts when I put them back in and the noise was not there for next few days. it came back eventually. Was at the dealer 3 times for this (well not just for this, but I complained about this one every time I went) and they are unable to find anything.
