About dmackdaddy

  1. There is a dealership over by a few lunch places near my work and it would be cool to know if one can go plug in while we eat? Would be a good Ford tactic to sell more cars if we could. Lind of like Tesla does. I might go try this week.
  2. I thought it's supposed to take 7 hours on a regular home outlet @ 120v? Why is mine only taking 5 hours? I plug in when I get home but tell it to charge at 11PM when rates drop. I then get an email saying its done at 4AM. This makes it harder for me to decide on Level 2 charging at home, when I can get 12 miles or so in 2.5 hours. Anyone else seeing this? Was the 7 hours a conservative time specified by Ford? BTW, I am not complaining :)
  3. Nice! We're moving into a new building in 2 months and we'll have 5 dual Chargers there for employees. No word on if they will be "Free" or 50 cents an hour. Either way I'm cool but FREE would be better :)
  4. At least mine now has LED DRL & FOGs and HID Low beams :) (Aftermarket).
  5. Here are my DRL LED's. I also got LED FOG's the HID's should be done next week! :)
  6. Post a pic of your car with the rims you bought, please!
  7. I'm coming from a 2011 BMW 535i. I've had my FFET for about 2 weeks and I love it. I still have the BMW but only thru May when the lease runs out. I wanted to buy one before the HOV stickers ran out. Sure the BMW is faster but everything else I find comprabale. I'm also amazed about how much more looks and comments I get about my 2014 FFET vs the BMW. I guess BMW's are a dime a dozen here in Silicon Valley (as are Tesla's now) but ppl dont feel like I will feel concited if they compliment my FFET :) Picture below btw.
  8. Looks like or FFET pretty much kicks the others to the curve :) http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/alternative/1404_2014_ford_fusion_energi_phev_first_test/ The 2014 Ford Fusion Energi not only is more efficient overall than its non-plug-in counterpart, but it's quicker, too. Combined power is rated 188 hp from a 141-hp, 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle I-4 and 118-hp electric motor, and the big battery filling much of the trunk is a 7.6 kW-hr lithium-ion unit. Despite weighing 3981 pounds as-tested in high-end Titanium trim, the 2014 Ford Fusion Energi is slightly quicker in stoplight sprints to 30 mph, at 2.9 seconds to the 3.1 seconds of the Toyota Prius PHEV, 2012 Chevrolet Volt, and non-PHEV Fusion Hybrid SE. When the engine and electric motor are working together, the Fusion Energi never feels sluggish. From zero to 60 mph, the Fusion Energi's 7.9-second time beats the non-PHEV Fusion (8.5 seconds), Toyota Prius PHEV (9.8 seconds), and 2012 Chevrolet Volt (8.8 seconds).
  9. Is this the one you bought??? http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-EL-51253-Electric-Vehicle-Charging/dp/B00FM7B1AO
  10. Looks awesome! I'm getting my car done Friday or early next week. Going with HID low beams, LED Fog lights, DRL and Trunk / plates will be LED as well. I decided to buy the good stuff cuz the labor on all that wrok isnt cheap here in California and if something burns, they will replace it with no added fees. Last thing I need is to get it all done and have something burn and hhave to pay for it to get fixed again. Its at least 2-3 hours worth of work to get it all done. Pics when its done!
  11. Thanks for the feedback. I trust the Bosch name, as most of the others I've not heard of before and seem to cost more too.
  12. I've had my FFET for 9 days and 24 miles is the most it shows. I definitely get more EV miles when I drive a shorter route to work with more stop and go traffic vs a slightly longer mostly all freeway miles at 75-80MPH.
  13. Has anyone considered the Bosch unit? Bosch EL-51253 Power Max 30 Amp Electric Vehicle Charging Station with 18' Cord $575.00
