Ford Fusion Energi Forum

That's a wrap - After 10 years and 159k miles, the Fusion Energi is DONE.

I was still LOVING this car - great mileage, still getting 12-14 EV miles per charge.  Then a fuel injector malfunction filled the number 4 cylinder with gas and BOOM! - bent/broken connecting rod.  The engine is totaled.  No sense replacing the engine (don't even know if it is possible).  Looking at a Hyundai Ionic 5 or a Mustang MachE.  Anyone need a cheap 'parts' car?

Neil,

Sorry to hear of your issue and sorry to see you go.  I'm hoping mine holds on for a couple years more.  At 110k I can't expect a whole lot, but my '07 escape hybrid is 160k+ and still going, so there's hope.  Good luck with whatever you choose to replace it.

Must be a '13, what color?

Only 159k? This is ridiculous. I might be poor and never buy brand new cars, but due to that I have 2 old BMWs, with my newest car being a 2016 FFE at 110K miles.  2005 Z4 BMW at 170K going strong, and another 2000 323i at 260K with transmission issues since 240K miles. I can reset the transmission with scanner, and the car keeps on driving. I thought I was buying a reliable car by switching to Ford lol.
