It plugs into the 12v socket on the Cmax and hangs on the rear window with suction cups. You can program up to 9 messages to scroll by, up to 250 characters each. My biggest reason for getting it is the late at night single car behind you on a country road. I wish they would pass but many times they ride your tail hoping you're going to go faster. Many times its a long distance trip for me and I don't go much more than the speed limit of 35mph. When I used to drive an ICE car, I always went 45 and most people want to do the same. Anyway, I wanted it to display a message: Electric Car, my speed 35mph. Blink twice to pass... I figure if they want to pass they can flash me and I'll signal and 1/2 pull over so they can get around. Easy fix as I hate to hold people back that want to go faster than me. Wanted to ask you guys what other messages would be good, think if you could say something to someone behind you, what would it be? Looking for your ideas, I got 8 more memory places I can program. To get you going, how about things like: Coasting, red light ahead... Please don't tailgate... Things like this. Let me know and thanks! -=>Raja. I was trying it last night in the garage and I stepped back about 25 feet and you could read it I don't know if you could still see it at 100 feet back, i'll have to try. -=>Raja. Let's be honest, it's not the car's fault that you're driving that slow and it's not fair for people to associate that negative impression with an electric car. Perhaps something like: Hypermiling, flash to pass Around town I try to accelerate, coast and brake to achieve the highest driving score. When I'm on the interstate I don't usually care about that.
