    • From 1977-2007 I was a Master Certified Partsman. I bought my 2014 Fusion PHEV used in 19 about 70,000 first shock on battery charge was not 19 MPGe but learned new word battery degradation. Its a legal term tough baloney for battery capacity. I was still getting 10 -12 MPGe my all in was 52 mpg so I enjoy the car. Bamm check engine light came on. Reader showed PODAD cel balance took it dealer for new cord charger and Modem got screw on that and the dealer new exactly what there doing on WO no part number they had replace it work for 2 years till ATT shut down 3G anyways dealer says that will be $495 to look at car. I continue to watch Battery die I mean degradation further and further. I kinda thought there would be a recall I was both right and wrong the recall was limited to 2019-2020. As I mention work history I research HV battery Pack and BECM 2013-2017 or 18 were the same 7.4kw 2019-2020 went up to 9 kw both still had 84 cells and most important BEMC for 2013-2020 but the early cars were screwed. Then March 2024 driving home from work early afternoon I start at 430am going freeway speeds the RED triangle of death comes on thank god electric power steering  I was in the middle lane turn signal I pull over to side of freeway. I would have thought there had been a fire but no smoke but the time pulled over the chemical smell was terrible when I tried to re start no luck called  ERS for tow truck got car home. Attempted to file claim under comprehensive the basis of electric fire was turn down instantly  crank up my attempt the finally agree to tow vehicle to a ford dealer and get a profession exam dealer says no fire bad HV battery pack,  Climate module and interior heater coil. oh I almost forgot key fob battery was low thank god they advise me I also had open recall I door latches, shift cable, air bags brake light switch all simply item I decline the major repair forgot my other wallet with wads of cash I was 8,000 miles less than 2 years. They refuse to do any recall work saying car needs to be running. My adjuster did ask the all work be photograph they didn't. I ask for a copy of work order and estimate for battery replacement but was inform rudley that they had not been paid so I could not have copy that was my cue got care home ask again for WO and estimate for battery replacement again finally was email one. But still no estimate but in reading email say a price for Battery $10,389.16 plus tax and shop supplies. This not a quote or estimate at all.  Very sad customer service. Next day I get a ad to buy a new Ford hhhmmmm let me think................................. NOT Any one that has 2013-2020 let ford and dealer hear NTHSB also  keep a eye out for class action law suit
    • Sorry to hear of your woes.  You definitely seem to have a lemon on your hands.    The shifting issue (being in park but rolling) is likely the recall on the transmission shift cable bushing. has that been fixed on your car yet?  Many of the other items sound like moisture got into the electronics and created a corrosion issue.  Lots of fault lights and strange behavior indicate an electronics issue, rather than all the mechanical parts going bad at the same time.  That doesn't help your situation any, as the problem(s) cause the car to be unusable.  The only good news is if it is happening that often, the dealer won't have to have it long to start seeing the issues pop up.   I wish you well, but getting rid of the turd seems to be your only good option.
    • I have been having issues with my 2013 Ford Fusion Energi since i got it back in 2020. I have taken it in several times to the mechanics and the service center at my local ford dealer. Issues I've experienced: Being in park and my car rolling backwards twice, all dash lights coming on at the same time while I am driving and my power steering goes out (This used to happen once every other month or so but now is happening several times a week and sometimes 2-5 times in a row), e-brake fault light, passenger side airbag fault light, tire pressure fault light, and many more. I have had my transmission replaced, two new batteries, and 1 new lithium battery. HELP! I am being told I would need to leave my car at the dealership show indefinitely so that the mechanics can try to document the issues if they happen. I cannot afford a rental for who even knows how long it would take. I know, I know, trade it in but I am trying to see if there is any way out of the remainder of my loan because so obviously I have a lemon on my hands. Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!
    • Here's a class action lawsuit here in Canada.    https://www.gluckstein.com/class-actions/Ford-Fusion-PHEV-2019-2020-Recall-class-action/class-action#:~:text=This class action concerns the, defect and commenced a recall.

    • I've also had water in the trunk this winter, but it was the trunk lid seal that was my issue.  Seems there is more than one leak path to the trunk on these Fusions.   (edit: sorry for repeating myself - I thought this was a different thread)
    • There is no alternator on the Energi's.  It uses a DC-DC converter from the HVB to run/charge the 12V circuit and battery.  I have been getting a few warnings recently when driving for more than an hour on hybrid mode.  I'm wondering if my DC-DC converter is having issues.
    • thanks to Johnny Mo for the modem info. I have been annoyed ever since they dropped that one on me. I will check out Cyan Labs.
    • I had this happen on my 2015 when my main commute was less than the PHEV battery range - but it took several months and then car went into hibernation mode.  I added a charger to the battery overnight and then made sure to include an occasional full 30+ drive on ICE only to keep the alternator charging the 12v battery.  Traded in recently for a 2020 but was not an issue for over a year after that revised approach.
    • I had a 2015 Energi that became my son's car - at 106k miles this past December we decided to upgrade (he loved his Fusion) to a 2020 Energi, knowing about the battery issue and a hope for a fix.  With that I was also surprised and upset about the modem issue - took matters into my own hands and replaced it with a newer modem from a Ford vehicle that was 4g and used Forscan to update it on his 2020 - works like a charm.  Check out the Cyan Labs forum for more details and what specific modem and antenna will work.  Hopefully we get a battery fix soon.  I had a lifetime 59mpg on that 2015 with 106k.
